The Lab is an expansion to the Ranch that houses a barn containing Hobson's old, Slime Science workshop. Once unlocked, the Lab will allow you to fabricate dozens of useful gadgets using Slime Science!
Unlocking The Lab is necessary for utilising Slime Science, due to the workshop being the only area in the game capable of producing gadgets.
The Lab itself is a large open area which contains five plots; four laid out near each other, and one tucked away to the left side of the barn. The four plots in the middle may be suitable for ranching slimes for the purpose of depositing their plorts into the refinery. However because they are so close together, it may be too dangerous to keep Tangle Slimes or Dervish Slimes together, or run the risk of a Tarr outbreak. The plot to the left of the barn may be suitable for dedicating to a specialised building, such as a Silo or an Incinerator.
Due to its close proximity to the refinery, extractors may also be placed here for Slime Science Resources. Contrary to its appearence, The Lab will not produce Deep Brine as it is not in The Dry Reef.
