Ornaments are small spherical decorative items first introduced in the Wiggly Wonderland update, with a second batch introduced in Party Gordo Update. There are currently 35 different designs available in the game.
Ornaments behave much like Echoes in that they float in place when shot from the Vacpack. Their texture moves in relation to the camera to always face where they were initially shot out from the Vacpack.
Any ornaments obtained will remain after their associated event is over, and can be kept.
Acquisition
Ornaments are exclusively obtained from time-limited events.
Wiggly Wonderland
Main article: Wiggly Wonderland
The first fifteen ornaments were introduced during the Wiggly Wonderland event, which runs from December 20th to January 1st. Every real-world day, a specific type of ornament is made available to drop from crates with rarer slime ornaments having a lower chance to drop from crates during this time period, while not being restricted to a specific day. On January 1st, any one of the Wiggly Wonderland-specific ornaments can drop from crates.
Party Weekend
Main article: Party Weekend
Twenty more ornaments were added in the Party Gordo update which introduced the Party Gordo and its associated party-themed crates which appear while the Party Weekend event is active. Two ornament types were made available per week, with a low chance to receive a rare ornament instead.

Changelog
- 1.2.2 - Hunt down the Party Gordo who is hiding somewhere on the map and pop him to receive lots of party presents containing festive ornaments for your ranch.
- 1.2.1 - Silos and warp depots now accept ornaments and echoes.
- 1.1.2 - Implemented.
Trivia
- All of the ornaments are based off real-world baubles.
- According to Ian McConville, the ornaments all use a shader based on an N64-era effect. [1]
- It is not possible to obtain the ornaments through normal gameplay outside of the alotted dates. However the game runs off of the computer's clock, so the system's date and time can be altered to appear within these dates. Restarting the game is not required.
- Manually adjusting the system clock to hunt for ornaments could cause problems with Slime Rancher's backup save system and Steam Cloud saves. Do so at your own risk.[2]
- There are no associated Saber Ornaments.
- It is not possible through normal gameplay to obtain the Briar Ornaments, on any date.
