The content of this page does not exist in Slime Rancher in current versions, but this article is kept for historical purposes.

It was going to be magnetic, like an inverse boom slime and also come crashing into the world as a meteor. It was very interesting but that second bit wouldn’t make sense on the ranch, and the mosaic slimes were already raining fire, so we pivoted.

Nick Popovich's response regarding the discontinued Meteor Slime.

Meteor Slimes were cut from the game, and the only trace of their existence was in the Slimepedia page of the Silver Parsnip before it was added as its favorite.

It was planned to be added in Update 0.6.0, with the magnetism code having been completed around August 2015,[1] however the devs stated that the slime wasn't working[2] due to the Dervish Slime accomplishing the same purpose by sucking in plorts and other objects together while also flinging them around.[3]

The meteor slime would have been able to attract items approximately within the range of a single corral, the area of which would increase with the slime's agitation. Once it's done attracting items, it and the objects around it get a low gravity effect for 10 seconds, in which objects experience 0.2 times the gravity they usually do.
