|“||It was going to be magnetic, like an inverse boom slime and also come crashing into the world as a meteor. It was very interesting but that second bit wouldn’t make sense on the ranch, and the mosaic slimes were already raining fire, so we pivoted.||”|
— Nick Popovich's response regarding the discontinued Meteor Slime.
It was planned to be added in 0.6.0, however the devs stated that the slime wasn't working. Parts of it have been repurposed for the other new slimes, most likely Fire Slimes, but it's possible that it might come back in a future update, as unfinished code for the slime still remains within the game's files. Said unfinished code has been finished around August 2015.
The meteor slime would have been able to attract items approximately within the range of a single corral, the area of which would increase with the slime's agitation. Once it's done attracting items, it and the objects around it get a low gravity effect for 10 seconds, in which objects experience 0.2 times the gravity they usually do.
