World Map

Entire world of the game up to 0.2.0 release. Note: This photo was taken by one of the devs in their game engine (Unity)

The games takes place at the Far, Far Range with its many different regions and climates. All the slimes, foods, teleporters, and resources spawn here.

The Ranch

Main Article

"A distant home for distant hearts." Beatrix begins her life on a humble ranch in the middle of an area of the Far, Far Range known as the Dry Reef. Once the property of the legendary slime rancher and notorious old codger, Hobson Twillgers, the ranch has seen better days, as Hobson let it come into a state of disrepair shortly before disappearing completely.

Hobson's whereabouts are currently unknown." -Slimepedia

This place is where you start. Try to make the Ranch as glorious as it was before.

Environment

The central part of the ranch has the same visual style as The Dry Reef, but it also has plots where you can put down different buildings. There are also several other buildings that can help you as well. The ranch can be expanded to The Grotto and The Overgrowth. Next to the Plort Market is the main teleporter, which all of the others lead to.

Trivia

  • Every time you start a new game, there's 4 Pink Slimes, 3 Chickadoos, 3 Pogofruit, 3 Carrots and 2 Hen-Hens on it.

The Grotto

Main Article

"A dark and gloomy cavern above the sea and a likely first chapter to that novel of yours"

The Grotto is an expansion to the ranch set inside a (slightly spooky) cave that allows a rancher to care for light-sensitive slimes without the need for a solar screen. Never has a phosphor slime felt so liberated. -Slimepedia

Environment

The Grotto is dark and wet, which is perfect for raising Phosphor Slimes. The center of The Grotto (which looks like a large cave bearing stalactites) is a huge, gaping hole covered with wood planks (just like the bridges) and you can see a pool of water at the bottom. There's a hole in front of you which leads to a teleporter, that you can use to teleport to the Indigo Quarry, if you pop the Rock Gordo that sits on it first.

Overgrowth

Main Article

"The ranch's very own wild side."

The Overgrowth is an expansion to the ranch that is covered in moss and tall grasses. The thicket it creates allows doe fruit and veggies to grow naturally and attracts the occasional wild chicken, making it an ideal space for a rancher that wants to let their slimes roam freely. -Slimepedia

Environment

Bright and sunny with lots of grass and wild food. This area contains only foods that aren't favored by any slime. The Overgrowth is more useful for new ranchers as it provides more resources. There's a hole in front of you which leads to a teleporter, that you can use to teleport near the bridge to island where Pink Phosphor Ferals spawn, if you pop the Tabby Gordo that sits on it first.

The Lab

 (no quote yet)

Warning: Information here is either based on leaks, or from what we already know. These might change with this expansion's release in 0.4.0.

The Lab will be an upcoming expansion to the Ranch. Within it you will be able to do slime science, and make gadgets ranging from just decorations, to helpful machines, to crazy creations, and place them wherever you want on the Far, Far Range (yes, it's possible) and your Ranch.

In 0.3.5, devs secretly added a bit of land near the main Ranch with the flower bed and construction post on it (presented in the image). Looks like you might be able to enter it either by the Grotto since there's another blocked off hole now, or near your House since the added bit of land connects to your house (it's blocked off by a wall) and buy access to it in either of the entrances.

Wilderness

The wilderness of the Far, Far Range is home to many different animals and slimes as well as many different plants.

The Dry Reef

"A coral-crusted ocean floor that now basks under a golden sun."

The environment surrounding the ranch is known as The Dry reef and is an arrid, wind-swept land covered in dusty crags and rocky cliffs shaped by the wind over a millenia.

The Dry Reef is primarily home to Pink, Tabby, and Rock Slimes though Phosphor Slimes will also come out from hiding when the sun sets. The Dry Reef's climate doesn't make for abundant of any particular resource, but there are plenty of Carrots, Pogofruit and Hen Hens, as well as some less common resources if you know where to look. -Slimepedia

Environment

The Dry Reef is what you go into immediately after leaving your ranch. It is a desert themed area. It is entirely made of rocks plateaus, rock cliffs, and large rocks coming up from the ground or the Slime Sea. The entire area is beige and coral coloured. There are many smaller cliffs and platforms that form part of the landscape as well. To date, three of the seven Gordo Slimes in the game are there (The Pink, first Tabby, and Phosphor Gordo). The Dry Reef has many different parts all of which have distinct features. Toward the end of the Dry Reef and underneath the Tabby Gordo there is a teleporter which leads to the Overgrowth.

Areas of the Dry Reef

Special - The Sandy Area

"The sandy area of the dry reef beyond the feral canyon is now open and has been reworked. It includes a happy little beach area where slimes like to relax."

This is the home of the second Tabby Gordo, and the relaxing place of various other slimes. The Tabby Gordo sits on an island which is part of a small island chain next to it.

There is a giant fossil rib-cage here, and another one in Indigo Quarry area #15. It remains unknown what the creature to whom these skeletal rib-cages belong, but they were big (obviously).

The Slime Sea

"An expansive body of a water and slime compound that's not fit for swimming, let alone drinking."

The Slime Sea that covers most of the Far, Far Range is something of a mystery. It is seemingly a mixture of water and slime that is believed to be the primordial pool where all slimes emerged, though its true purpose is entirely unknown by even the most esteemed slime scientists.

What is known is that the liquid found within the Slime Sea is not fit for drinking, watering crops, or even swimming, as most things seem to quickly sink to the bottom. When a slime enters the Slime Sea it quickly vanishes but it is widely believed that this far from ends the slime's existence, for slimes that enter the sea can often be seen quickly returning back on land, happy as ever. In fact, many slime scientists believe that slimes use the sea as a means of transportation, moving swiftly below the surface and popping out on land wherever they see fit.

But all theories aside, one fact remains very clear, most especially to ranchers: don't enter the Slime Sea! -Slimepedia

Environment

The water of the Slime Sea is blue with a turquoise tint. To get over the Slime Sea, there are a series of wooden bridges resting on rocks coming up from the water. There are also small islets made of rock that can be walked on and have fruit-bearing trees on them.

The Moss Blanket

Main Article

"Like a flower blooming from a rocky crack, this emerald expanse hints at what could be."

The Moss Blanket is an island covered in a thick layer of moss where flora grows wild in great, tangling knots at every turn. The high walls of the cliffs surrounding the island and its great canopy of trees allow for sea mists to pass in and become trapped, creating a unique climate withing the otherwise arid range.

The slimes primarily found within the Moss Blanket find its jungle-like conditions perfect: Tabby and Boom Slimes hunt their prey through the thickets with abandon, and Honey Slimes lounge in the flower beds, eating the great abundance of fruit that can be found at every turn. -Slimepedia

Environment

The Moss Blanket is a jungle-themed area. The Moss Blanket's walls are large rock cliffs. There are many trees, logs, puddles, and lakes of water in it. The Moss Blanket is a veritable smorgasbord of resources, though it does take time to get to. There is only one Gordo Slime that can be found in this area (Honey Gordo) but it is likely that more will be added to the Moss Blanket. There is a Teleporter at the far end of the Moss Blanket that sends you right back to The Ranch. Because of the large variety of slime types, The Tarr appear very frequently.

Areas of the Moss Blanket

The Indigo Quarry

"All that remains of a mining project that quickly went bust."

The Indigo Quarry is a winding network of caves and cliffs, stritaded with deep purple hills from the rare minerals found within it. It was once the site of a mining project but went bust after the discovery that the rare ores it produces quickly break down in the atmospheres other than that of the Far, Far Range.

It was later discovered that the means to harness these metals was via rock slime plorts. Somehow, rock slime plorts preserve the minerals within, a process that eludes even the most prestigious slime scientists.

The Indigo Quarry is a natural home for rock slimes and the more elusive rad slime, and its naturally mineral-rich soil make it a great place to harvest most wild veggies -Slimepedia

Environment

The Indigo Quarry is a mountain range of indigo colored stone. It has many cliffs and caves. It contains three of the seven Gordos, two rocks, one rad. The area is rich of veggie crops, so take a notice. If you pop the first Rock Gordo you get a teleporter that leads to the Grotto.
