Far, Far Range

The Far, Far Range is an alien planet located a thousand light-years from the Earth, whose natural conditions make up the homes of different kinds of slimes. Having found a new source of income, mega corporations from the Earth sent their people to live on the Far, Far Range as hosts on specially equipped ranches where they care for slimes and extract plorts. That is because no slime has ever produced a plort outside of its atmosphere. Connection between the Earth and the Far, Far Range is supported by StarMail. Players exchange plorts for money at the Plort Market. From time to time, 7Zee offers services by trading newbucks for upgrades to The Ranch and Vacpack.

Locations

The Ranch

The Ranch - Home of Beatrix LeBeau. It houses her gardens, corrals, and other equipment.

The Grotto - An expansion to the ranch set inside a "slightly spooky" cave.

The Overgrowth - An expansion to the ranch that is covered in moss and tall grass.

The Lab - An expansion to the ranch that unlocks Slime Science.

The Docks - An expansion to the ranch with a view of the sea and a waterfall.

Ogden's Retreat - An expansion to the ranch owned by Ogden Ortiz, who discovered the existence of The Wilds.

Mochi's Manor - An expansion to the ranch owned by Mochi Miles, the entrancepoint to Nimble Valley.

Viktor's Workshop - An expansion to the ranch owned by Viktor Humphries, inventor of The Slimeulation.

The Wilderness

The Slime Sea - The sea that covers most of the Far, Far Range.

The Dry Reef - A territory which was once a coral ocean floor.

The Moss Blanket - A jungle-like island, covered with moss, grass, and trees.

The Indigo Quarry - All that remains of a mining project that quickly went bust.

The Ancient Ruins - Their origin remains a mystery, as do the strange occurrences that happen within.

The Glass Desert - An uncharted, unforgiving territory far beyond the ranch.

The Wilds - Filled with the deepest roots of the slime family tree.

Nimble Valley - A nice place to visit. If Mochi ever lets you.

The Slimeulation - Virtually better than the real thing.

Unknown - Any area of the map that does not belong to any existing zone.

Trivia

• Though the Slime Sea covers the most of the Far, Far Range, only the islands leading to the Mustache Island, between The Grotto and the Feral Sink, the bridges and the islands where the Pink Phosphor Ferals are show that it is located by the Slime Sea. The rest of the Slime Sea simply says "Unknown".
• The Far, Far Range appears to be an Ocean planet and has a breathable atmosphere.
• Signs of civilization in the Far, Far Range can be seen throughout most of the zones.
  • Pillars with Slime Statues can be found on The Slime Sea near the entrance of The Moss Blanket.
    • Slime statues appear throughout the Far, Far Range.
  • More signs of civilization can be found in The Ancient Ruins and The Glass Desert, both in which are abandoned ruins of civilization.
    • The Ancient Ruins in particular, was built to serve as a warp station from the main area of the Far, Far Range to a distant area called The Glass Desert.
  • There are other man-made constructions in The Dry Reef, The Moss Blanket and The Indigo Quarry, though this may have been done relatively recently by humans/ranchers as there are no signs of vegetation.
• The Far, Far Range is inhabited by more than ranchers, slimes, and chickens. It's inhabited by bird-like creatures called Rayvians , scuttle bugs, bees, firefly-like creatures, and possibly more.
• The part of the Slime Sea around the Glass Desert is sand.
• A possible location of the Far, Far Range is the exoplanet Kepler-62f, it is approximately 990 light years from Earth (very close to 1000) and is in the habitable range of it's star.
  • KOI-4878.01 is also a possible location of the Far, Far Range. It is approximately 1075 light years away from Earth (also close to 1000), is very likely located in it's host star's habitable zone, and has the highest Earth Similarity Index of any planet besides Earth at 98%.
